Subject: Japan's Largest Cities

The similarity between the names of Kyoto and Tokyo is not entirely coincidental. The 'kyo' in their name is the same character. The 'to' is different in each one, though.

That said, it's irrelevant, because not only is Kyoto not one of the three largest Japanese cities, but I've never even heard of Otkyo. The word doesn't even make sense as a word transliterated from Japanese

Well, that's why I provided a link to information about it. I recognize that it's not a very well-known place to Americans in general. You have to know a lot about Japan, as I do.

Even assuming that the place exists in Japan, and that "Otkyo" is not merely "Tokyo" with the first two letters switched, as is consistent with many other names in that article, it's still not listed as one of the three largest cities in Japan. Not in any listing I can find, anyway, including ones from Japan.
