The only barber shop I remember was in a house garage down All Saints road opposite Stocktonwood school playing fields. as a boy I had to go there and wait for hours for my haircut. This must have been in the late 40s. a good while later a barber shop opened at the shops at the bottom of Western Ave. this was before the Pegasus pub was built and Butlers tea bar was there serving the bus drivers and conductors. this was the bus terminal then.

I was born in Speke in 1948 delived by nurse Macarthey Pauls mum.
I remember the barbers at the crescent by the old library
it used to be 1 shilling in 1956. I attended Stockton wood and then Stapelton Ave Secondary School. We had great fun growing up Billy Nelson, Colin Mann, Lenny Fletcher, Billy Shaw, playing football till 10pm at the playing fields then of to the Fox hotel for a bitter shandy
Does any one remember me used to live in Central Avenue
