\.the filly watched her crestfallen father, his unhappiness breaking her little heart. his words, however, tore her soul, shredding the delicate veil that she had so carefully placed as a protective layer, hiding her true self. through the veil, right to the center of her being, his words ricocheted off fibers of her life, each impact painful and horrifying. she stood still, her tiny, charcoal and raven body stiff. she stared into space, her mind to shocked for her eyes to cry. she slowly turned her head and looked up at the forlorn figure of her father, and seeing his remorse and pain, she was released from her own prison. springing into action, she leapt forward and nuzzle her father's face gently, nickering quietly./
