Natalie's response to you is one way of dealing with your topic. If you wish to proceed as you are going, there are several things to think over. It seems like you are thinking about the deep implications of the sex act in terms of social and political consequences, beyond just "having sex." Comparing Komunyakaa and Seibles would be fruitful. But at the same time, there is much ground to cover between the two of them. You would have to structure your comparison in an organized and clear way. Outline it first and then proceed. One link would be the deeply personal decision of sex versus the appropriation of it by the state (Seibles)or the military (Komunyakaa), both male patriarchal institutions. What happens to sex and sexuality under these two arenas? You seem to be implying these things in your notes below.
