I'm still having a bit of a problem with this one, Rich (as you know from my email to you a couple of weeks back!).

For me there was no "mental image" of what I was seeking. True, there were plenty of mental images of Utopia, a "fixed" world with no suffering and Happiness Ever After that I'd carried with me since birth, it seems, and which gave rise to a certain sort of seeking.

But what gave rise to my spiritual search was a body-based event/initiation at the hands of Adi Da. In retrospect, this was a blast into the Unknown, Consciousness itself, which I was totally unaware of because, of course, it is BEYOND my mind. Indeed my mind was smashed to pieces, totally blown and felt forever betrayed by the event - it had been seeking for something (it knew not what) and there was NO WAY it could have guessed this!

I guess that's what you mean - resting in the Not-Knowing being resting in the Unknown. So perhaps I'm beginning to understand what you're saying!

Much love - and welcome aboard! Good to have you here.

Gill xx
