Hi Cassie,
I agree with everything you said. Yes we label our feelings as terror or loneliness etc. I think the labelling even contributes to the way we feel when those body sensations arise. i also think those sensations arise when there is even just a subtle, even unconscious, thought. In fact much of what arises is simply old patterning, old and entrenched energy streamings. Our bodies (nervous systems) run those same old patterns until they are finished. Our minds can only label those patterns and our emotions are the ways we express those patterns. That's the way I see it. I told someone the other day that it is alot easier to awake than it is to develop mystical abilities. I think that those people who naturally gravitate to spiritual experiences have a bit of a problem with regard to waking down. The problem is that since they are so talented in the mystical realm it is harder for them to just accept the finite, messy stuff of life; it is harder for them to simply wake down. I guess they can wake up to some spiritual experience but the experience gets in the way of just being. On the other hand, it would probably be alot harder for me to develop mystical qualities than it was for me to wake down. Afte all, my waking down (or whatever you want to call it) happened with no effort at all. I think all I had to do was to come to Saniel's events and be in mutuality to whatever degree i naturally could. Yes, I agree with your coments re Gangaji. Why be dualistic. Why is one aspect of life any more or less divine than any other. Whys choose to presume that an ascended experience is preferable to a hellish one. It's all in the attitude of the person. It's all the way we relate to what is happening. Shinzen Young,a wonderful teacher of zen and vipassana meditation, once suggested that the mathematical formula S = P x R expresses things clearly. S = Suffering, P = Pain, and R = Resistance. There could be alot, even an infinite amount, of P (Pain) but if your R (Resistance) is 0 than your S, Suffering, has to be 0 (Zero) also, because as every math student knows, zero times any number must always equal zero. Anyway, enough of my pedagogy. All I know is that this is all a mystery to me. Things are no different than before except that somehow there's a difference. If I had my way all the pain would vanish like the Doubt and Confusion. But, just as I had nothing to do with the end of Doubt and Confusion, there's nothing I can do about the other stuff.

Love, Rich
