I used to be seduced by a spiritual teaching that said things like "become No one special," and "leave no footprints," and "I'm just along for the ride." This is causing me to wonder now what it was/is about those kind of messages that i found and in a way still find, so appealing. I think it was the tacitly promised relief from the burden of karmic entanglement. If I am so transparent, I will have no effect upon anything,(which is perfect the way it is anyhow so why would I want to) and thus be free.

A fools paradise indeed. Fortunately, my blood reality spoke a louder and truer imperative than the lure of just skipping out, I could never have done that anyway. So, for good or ill, loved or hated, helpful or destructive, here I am too!

But within that earlier false hope there was a genuine desire for Clarity of Heart. That desire remains alive and has found a home in this work.
