Precious Deidra, Long ago when I was young and mostly out of touch with the planet and my life, I believed the stories I was told that the planet was this dead rock and everything on it was for our use. This included all the minerals, plants and animals. I really believed that this was the case and I did not have the means or sensitivity to see it any other way. Imagine my shock when I started experimenting with LSD and found that everything was alive, and not only that but I could communicate with it. About that time I started reading a lot of books on Native Americans and saw how they always knew that the Earth was alive and that we are related to the animals. That we are a family. I know many people that still hold onto the old image of the dead planet and they think I'm wierd if I try to inform them of the way it is. Even much of our science hasn't discovered what life is. Living things exist within a narrow perameter that they determine. What a tradgedy. There are many Native Americans that have lost a lot of their old religion and sensitivty because of pressure to survive in a "White Mans World". Stones are alive and the animals are our greater family and it's a shame what we are doing to this planet and each other because of insensitivity and greed. I share your anger and shame and I am learning to live with the part I play in this drama. Life is so obvious to me now that it is hard for me imagine that at one time it was so hidden from me, but it was and this why I think it is so important for us to awaken and help awaken others. That is the only way people are going to get to feel life fully and recognize it all around them in it's diverse forms. So being here as an awakened person means we have to bear the unbearable, but we can love each other and that takes some of the sting out of it. But it's still very tough. Ben
