Yes, eating with your hands. Getting into the texture and feel of everything, the slime and muck and finding out that it's wonderful after all, not awful.

I was at a meditation sitting some time last October in London and was catapulted back into pure Being, where it was all nice and safe and cosy. I then "came back" into life, the mind was there and all sorts of other crazy arisings. On my way home I went into a restaurant to eat and was amazed at how ravenous I was - I was eating like an animal and it felt right to eat that way, rather than politely. Indeed, after the meal, I had a cup of tea and a cigarette (of course) and that felt rather false, sort of a learned "civilised" thing to do compared to the way I had just eaten my food.

The body as an animal; as with sexual matters, the muckier and slimier the better; exchange of smells and fluids and sweat and so on. The side that centuries of religions and cultures have tried to repress, supress, think as evil - THE BODY. THE BODY. How I have resented embodiment sometimes. God as an Animal - how sacrilegious to some!

Wow. Great.
