So, so far fruit, vegtables, and bake goods seem to be pretty easy to rip off. The real pay-dirt would be ripping off packages of chicken or steaks or canned goods.

I havent examined the scales close enough, but if memory serves correct, they might be spring loaded, and not solely electronic. If so, would it be possible to shove something, say like a sliver or block of wood under the scale surface? If you could keep the scale surface from compressing, then you could fill your bags until your hearts content. Although the danger in this, is that if the pimple faced attendent catches you and calls over the manager, you cant say "Duh...I didnt know how work the thing". You are pretty much busted.
