Hi Rachel,
I am glad that you feel that you are able to get on with a wide range of people and respond in a positive manner to them.
What i am am concerned of here though is that you seem to think that just because these people seem nice (many of them probably are genuine) they are people nevertheless and prone to let you down. It is also especially easy for people (of any group) to put on a front when they all come together. So you don't really get a real picture of what is happening anyway, at least not for a while.
Most importantly, I would warn you about the spiritually slippy path that you will be waliking if you embark on what you say you are going to walk. Things are not what they seem, and there are spiritual forces involved that do not have your good in mind. Please have a read of some of the rtestimonies on the Spotlight site to see how some here have only just got out by the skin of their teeth.

Being friends with people in any group is fine. I am a Christian and have friends who are pagans, witches, muslims, etc. I would also (and have been) go to the places of worship and the gatherings of various groups and religions, but I do have a cut off point. I will not participate in the worship at such places, and do not give myself up fully to these meetings or embrace their worldview. Sure, we can see true and good things in any group and religion, but we also need to be aware of spiritual dangers as well. They are a reality.
You say you have been to church, and want to carry on. Have you ever really given your heart and mind over to Jesus, and Him alone, in repentance and faith? This is what makes a Christian, not going to Church. Lots of people think that going to church of a Sunday some how puts them in God's good books. Church means diddly squat though unless it is accompanied by a personal faith in Jesus Christ. It is He who changes lives, not Church.
Please have a look at the section on this site about the occult again:

Also, the New Age section:

Regards,
Vince
