If you're feeling tormented about the Oregon driver's license, wait until you put Oregon plates on your car.
I've got the Louisiana license and plates. I kept my Illinois ones while I lived in Florida and Arizona, but when I got here I had to make the switch. Louisiana didn't require me to take any kind of test, just fill out a form with my address, height, weight, etc, and show proof of insurance. They let me keep my Illinois license, but punched holes in it. I've since lost it.
I was supposed to go have my car inspected and get my "brake tags" (I still don't know why they're called that) within 48 hours of getting my new plates. It's been almost two years now, and I haven't gotten around to it yet. I could have a whomping huge fine if I ever get pulled over and the cop sees that I don't have them. That makes me a little nervous, but not enough to actually go get it done. I'll just have to make a point of not getting pulled over. :)
UNRELATED, but I thought I'd share: It is shortly past eight in the morning. I am at my office with nothing to do. I thought I had a visit, so I rushed to get here by eight. As it turns out, I don't have anywhere be today. My boss does have a visit, and she's already gone. In theory, I could spend the entire day playing. I worked out from 6-7:15 this morning. My arms are so sore from working out that it's hard to type. I could have gone home after the torture...er, exercising and gone back to bed for another hour or two. Instead I came here. I'm getting paid, so it's not all bad, but still...my bed is so warm and soft with watermelon-colored t-shirt sheets. **Picture the bed in Haiku Tunnel, how it undulates when Josh pictures it**
