Sympathy to the family of Miss West Allis 1959, Judith (Judy) Ann Mages Clark, who sadly passed away at age 83 on May 1, 2024. Her funeral was held last week Thursday (May 16, 2024 in Brookfield, Wisconsin):

After being named Miss West Allis 1959, at age 18, Judy competed in the 1959 Miss Wisconsin pageant on July 11, 1959, the first year (of the eventual four) that the state pageant was staged in Kenosha.

The eleven other statewide entrants surprised Judy by being named Miss Congeniality. "I was very nervous during the competition" Judy Mages Clark said in 2019. "The most memorable moment of the entire time being in Kenosha was receiving the Miss Congeniality award from the other contestants.” Judy did not place in the state contest.

Winning the 1959 Miss Wisconsin title and a $1,000 Pepsi-Cola scholarship was petite Miss Sheboygan, Mary Alice Fox, 19, a brunette who just completed her sophomore year at Valparaiso University in Valparaiso, Indiana. The comedy dancer would later be named first runner-up to Miss America 1960, Lynda Lee Mead of Mississippi, then the highest ranked Wisconsin woman in the Miss America pageant program.

We shall remember Judith Ann Mages Clark, 1940--2024.
