Subject: The days of Mandi's troubles may now be over

Well, one of the biggest and sometimes unexpected big pit-falls when you suddenly over-night become a public figure and gain publicity, people will suddenly know a lot more about you than you ever thought they would or could.

Mandi Genord is waking up this early Sunday morning, June 23, with a Miss Wisconsin-supplied tour vehicle, a front page coronation story in the Oshkosh Northwestern newspaper, and a crown that she will keep at least until January, and longer if she does not become Miss America.

And Mandi is also waking up to the news that this Miss Wisconsin victory is probably the one bright-spot in her life the last two years other than her well-deserved graduation last month from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

Its been one scandal and tragic news after another the last three years, beginning with earning a speeding ticket in Green Lake County at the time of her 20th birthday, and following that. her maternal grandfather Patrick Glenn McFarland suddenly died at age 75, right before Mandi's 21st birthday.

And two months later, April 2023, her mother Laura filed divorce papers on her con-man husband, Jason Genord.

I guess Mandi's mom had about enough of seeing her husband Jason on the local tv newscasts and his police mug-shot in the newspapers for scamming the elderly and unsuspecting future gullible clients.

It only took the authorities a few weeks with a handful of arrest warrants, some still hanging on the door of their Montello house, for Jason Genord to be summoned with a 14-count charge in separate cases in Marquette County Circuit Court with two counts of theft by contractor, burglary, bail jumping, and transferring encumbered property between $5,000 and $10,000 in value, all as felonies, while Laura and Mandi "got out of Dodge" and literally moved to Dodge County where they now have a home in Beaver Dam.

Then came the FBI with a search warrant, and God-forbid if the investigators touched any of Mandi's prized evening gowns or crowns.

So, maybe the Miss Wisconsin crown and happy memories of June 22nd will be at least one pleasant moment for this family plagued with dozens of personal and legal issues---enough to make one wonder, where will the Genord family move next?

.
