Subject: *spoilers possible* Boss Fight help and info on a particular chain ability

First, I want to ask about the Phantom PP ability. Does it
take long to get? Someone told me you have to get all the chain abilities (offense and defense) before you get this.
Is that true? I've gotten quite a few of both. Always had trouble on the timing of defense abilities.

Btw, can you gain abilities on the training dummies? I'm guessing no. Or do you have to spend time backtracking and wandering around the same places to get them. I ask that because I am already saved right near the end. Training dummy would be very handy if it is possible.

Btw, I found the first form of Gildestern (argh spelling?) to be very easy. He wasted time trying all sorts of status effects and I could do heavy damage on him. However, the second form is different. It's not that hard at all at first. As there is an effective strategy of having magic ward cast and waiting (weapon sheathed so not in battle mode) on the edge far from him to regain your magic. Then when he flashes red get ready for him to get close to you. So, it is easy to avoid any damage from him at first. Since, he only uses magic.

But, then he uses that nasty special attack called Blood Rain? Sorry my memory on the names isn't that great. And, I got killed instantly. I just can't get the defense timed right. So, I really would like to get the Phantom PP ability to avoid that special attack. I think I took way too much time and allowed him to fire it up. If I could only do more damage to him more quickly.

Because of that this fight is the hardest for me. The previous hardest has to be the fight against Neesa and her
knight (forgot his name sorry). Btw, this is my first time playing.
