Destruction as far as Shadowbane could see, nothing but the empty shells of once proud cities and where the land wasn�t taken up by shattered buildings there was only blackened grass. Smoke rose bellowing behind Shadowbane where the first opening to Hell has appeared for millennia. It was through this that Shadowbane and the other Minions had reached the surface through.

Shadowbane turned to face the opening and saw the minions�no HIS minions filing out of a red gaping hole in the ground about the size of a bus. In the middle of this hole a strange escalator deposited the minions on the earth, the only thing that hinted the escalator ran all the way to the fiery depths of Hell was an unsettling red glow emitting from deep within the hole. The hole was located in the centre of Japan where the earth was closest to Hell (why else do you think all the giant monsters like Godzilla come from there?).

Yes�they were Shadowbane�s Minions now, they had all pledged their alliance to him and have promised to serve him in life and in death. Shadowbane could still remember when he led his Flame Minions and Acid Minions against the ruling Minion King. Although outnumbered he showed his superior battle skills than the pacifistic Minion King of the time and managed to defeat him. Sending those few who remained loyal to the Minion King into permanent banishment to the fourth level of Hell. After the defeat of the Minion King Shadowbane didn�t have to worry about another one for 100 years and so he plotted his revenge on the gods who had forsaken him. The very gods who had given the accursed Lewis enough power to destroy him after they promised him ultimate power and control. Well he did get it�but not the way they thought, after Lewis killed him they left him for dead (obviously) some Minions discovered his body and sensed the power to become a minion so they resurrected him as a Flame Minion. Thus David became the first ever human to become a Minion (as it normally takes five souls merged with fire to create a minion). So he had sought his revenge on the gods and he launched an attack on the heavens themselves! Minions swarmed by the thousands smashing through the supposed sacred Gate of Heaven. The only thing keeping them from overrunning the place entirely were the Angels, immortal, holy beings with immeasurable power, they killed minions in there hundreds. So the minions were forced to retreat with the last shreds of their grand army. But it had been enough time for David; no he was Shadowbane now. To eat the God of Food who promised him everything in the first place. For Shadowbane had discovered the gods� only weakness�this was that they only has power over the earthly plane but the heavenly plane they were helpless with only the angels to protect them.

However even all that still didn�t quench Shadowbane�s thirst for revenge. But now the remnants of his army numbering only 150,000 were scattered across the earth only 1,000 has returned to him (he was willing to forgive them this time). But even if the gathered up his army again they still wouldn�t have enough power to stop the angels. So he needed more�and he knew just how to get it.

�Get the troops, we must leave Japan and enter the main land as quickly as possible.� said Shadowbane to his second in command Takol.
Takol bowed and moved to gather the Minions while Shadowbane continued to construct his plan in his mind.
�It�s perfect,� muttered Shadowbane with a smile before turning to look at the ruined land once again.
