Point taken, you're right.

However my underlying point was that if an OC is NOT a self-insertion, either accurate or idealised, then they are also not a Sue. Just a bad OC. Self insertion is nessecary for sue to be sue. (for a bit of further distinction, consider that someone who makes up an OC, even a bad one, has usually tried to be more creative/self-concious than the person who writes an idealised version of themselves)
And technically speaking, an honest Self Insertion like what you described cannot be an Original Character, as the character already exists in another medium IE Real Life. But that's getting picky again. :-)
