A message on behalf of everyone who is just about BLOODY PISSED OFF with this bickering...

First off, I'd like to apologise to The Site Guru for this off-topic message in advance.

We were booted from InvisionFree - end of story.
Why? We can't know for sure, but we suspect that it has to do with the very nature of disecting NC-17 material (which apparently is not allowed on IF forums, therefore violating their TOS).

Does this mean that we should be pointing fingers of blame at each other - NO.
Does it mean that we should be engaging in a bitchfest/acting like a raving fangirl - NO.

For heaven's sake people, this isn't what GAFF is all about! We're here to disect and comment upon badfic in it's many forms, not to argue amongst ourselves. We're here to debate, not for a row - there is a fine line between the two that so many of us have crossed. I'm sure that The Site Guru doesn't want to listen to all this arguing... sure as Hell I don't.

The atmosphere of this forum has changed drastically, and for the worse. When I was a newbie, flaming each other was not approved of. It still shouldn't be deemed acceptable now. Do you think for a minute that The Site Guru provided us with a forum to bitch at each other for all it's worth? I thought not.

Many of the good GAFFers I knew have gone into lurking.
Why? Probably because they hate seeing what's happening to this onCe-brilliant board. We used to discuss badfic, disect it, say what bits of the fic we disliked and why. We used to have intellegent debates about slash, MPreg, Mary Sueism, and much more. We discussed the fandoms, compared ficverses with the canon material, sometimes even bashing our heads agains a cyber-brickwall wondering where the hell a ficcer was coming from.

What happened to the good old days?
What happened to the spirit of GAFF?
Where's the snark now?
Where are all those brilliant minds with an acute eye for badfic?

I believe that every one of you has at least something useful to contribute to this board. I believe that underneath all the flaming, bruised egos, and faving fangirlish behavior there is something of the GAFF I used to know and love.

We all have badfic in common, so for the sake of preserving the identity of this group PULL YOURSELVES TOGETHER. Stop fighting and ranting. Go find some badfic, and discuss.

Furthermore, I'd like to say a special thanks to all of the long-time regulars who have taught me so much about GAFF when I was a newbie. Hopefully when a stop has been put to all of this nonsense you can all delurk and show these newbies what GAFF is *really* all about. Let's see a return of the good old days with as much snark as we can muster.
