You can also look at a long term hotel, if absolutely necessary. You will be paying quite a bit more, but that might be the only option. You can always stay at one place for a couple of weeks, then make the move to the "FAA housing" when it comes available.

Spanish Gardens is just fine. Mansion's South had a rough period during the ice storm. Many people moved out because they did not have power for 4 days. Other than that I have not heard any complaints. (Our class has 3 people staying staying there.)
