Shakespeare's diction conveys the season by saying, "the time of year when there is yellow leaves, or no leaves, or when few hanging" which would be a sign of winter. He also talks about when the trees are bare where the birds are usually singing this is also a sign of winter. He talks about the darkness of when the sun goes down which falls into why the time and place are sginificant. This is so because it explains the time and place of death. When the sun sets it shows someone holding on trying hard to breathe and when darkness comes it presents death and the fire represents what happens when you die this indicates someone close to him dying or who died and he related it to winter.
