You can remove shocks from XII without removing fairing.

TIP:: Only do 1 shock at a time from start to finish. (keeps parts from getting mixed up).

1. Slightly Loosen Axle bolt , all shock pinch bolts & then raise front wheel off ground about 1" by placing a block under front of engine or jack stands under each crash bar, while pulling back on tour pack to raise front wheel off ground or use floor jack.

2. Release all air out of front shocks, then Drain oil from screw at bottom outside of shocks

2. Remove black plastic cap on top of shock tube & push down on indent in plug on top of shock, you will see a round cir-clip indented inside the shock tube just under the plug you pushed down, remove it with a pick, release the plug slowly, the shock spring is going to push some parts up with some force.

2 Remove spacer, filter & spring ( if you have "progressive" aftermarket springs there will be no parts other than the springs).

3. Remove front wheel & fender and fork brace, & brake calipers. ( Hang calipers so not to put stress on brake lines. put something in between brake pads so they do not compress.

5. Remove bolt at very bottom of shock within axle hsg. ( use small impact gun)

4. Loosen the shock pinch bolts so you can twist the shocks. Be care full when you pull down on the shocks to hold up the air line manifold so you do not damage it. (there is a thin round spring on the out side of the shock tube you will see when you start to pull it down and you then remove it from the shock).

5. Remove dust shield & separate shock tube by carefully slide hammaring them apart. Any questions you can pm me.
