I just drained mine.

Searched and found your thread. I wanted to know if there was a lining in these tanks. I expected rust but it seems like if there is any, it's from something else. The tank on mine has been mostly empty for five years and so I expected rust where the air was in contact with the tank. Not so.

Looking into electrolysis, but if it's lined I don't want to ruin it. It's my first motorcycle so I wouldn't even know if the inside of a lined tank has a specific look or touch.
