Think it’s more driven by silva’s penchant for multi position players in mid 20s with prem experience, plus the height/physical is clearly a priority for us. We don’t get many wrong, just felt there was an opportunity to bring in someone who knows the role and younger, but who knows, maybe over time berge will evolve into a star, just not sure it’ll be as the defensive mid role hes playing now. -- SW6.doc

- Not writing anyone off, I’ve said berge is a good player, just question the logic of signing Berge given all our other mid players can play a more offensive role, yet only lukic has very recently been good in the most defensive role. I’ve seen 2 full wolves games, Andre has been decent, tidy and good tactically, but far too early to judge, but he must have plenty about him to play for Brazil come to prem and start from almost game 1, especially at 22. As alanos' favourite Andre agent I fully agree. But the career numbers of Berge & Lukic are too similar to be a coincidence. There's clearly some thinking going on about why players with these attributes (i.e. good carries, both progressive & safe passing, solid ball-retention) make good defensive mids even without trad defensive traits.
