Subject: Another school shooting

Today we had another shooting at a high school here in San Diego - the second one in two weeks. Home schooling sounds better to me each day. I hate the idea of sending our eldest daughter off to high school tomorrow morning. Hope all is well with each you...take care...Meg

This latest incident looked like a drive by type shooting. It just sickens me. I don't blame you for wanting to homeschool your daughter.

Not a drive-by shooting - the student took up a sniper position and started shooting people with a 12 gauge shotgun. The on-duty school police officer exchanged gunfire with the student doing the shooting and shot the student in the face and the buttocks. I work for the President of the hospital system where they brought several of the injured, just like they did with the victims from the shooting here at Santana High. Consequently our phones were ringing off the hook with media calls - those vultures! I think the media exposure helps perpetuate these incidents. I don't know if anyone remembers him, but Steve Kimbler was telling me they've had 70 bomb scares in Tampa public schools this year alone. Scary and sad...

It is horrible any way we think about it. I just hope something can be done. Our schools are now becoming war zones.

My thoughts are with your family.
