I had abandoned caution in my frustration with that wooded hell. How could I have known I'd run across this stallion? I hadn't run into another equine in months, this part of the mountains was empty but for the occasion group of deer, a fox, or lone wolf. I wasn't even bothered by the predators, there weren't enough of them to harm me. As I settled I realized that it was not that bright out at all, the full moon having just been far more light than I'd been bathed in amongst the trees.

The stallion greeted me and I studied him, Not entirely relaxing but not making myself appear any more suspicious. Fear and anxiety never usually worked in your favor in the animal kingdom. "Hello." Alright, now what? I pulled myself from the inky tree line, rounding our meeting place but not coming closer to the stranger. "Is this anywhere?" What a stupid question. A grimace crossed my face and betrayed how annoyed I was by the manner in which I'd phrased my 'where am I'. I tested the air for his scent and sized him up in the twilight. The light shimmered over my ghostly pelt, while his absorbed it seeming to take on a sheen one never would have seen in the daylight.
