Jess has known Daniel since they were in second grade. They have become like brother and sister, coming to each other with any problems or good news. So it is no suprize that she was the first to find out that Dan comes from a family of wizards. She becomes interested in the arcane arts through him, and uses working at her father's occult bookstore as a front to learn Wiccan spells behind her Catholic (and tight-assed) mother's back. She is also a member of the Literati [TGE:XLA Syndicate, in a way], a group of fantasy/sci-fi fanatics led by Hogan, her college professor and his son, J.T. [Happy, Magnus?] When Prof. Hogan gives her a volume of the Librari Arcanium, her entire family is chased about by extreme cult members, lead by the assassin, Necros [TGE:XLA Death Giver]. Will Daniel, under the guise of The Great Enigma, be able to save his lifelong friend? Or do Prof. Hogan and J.T. know more than they're letting on?
