Hello Ed.

Here's the info I have been able to locate basedon the image and info you also sent to my email address.

The Pegleg Pete in question was created by Disney artists in January 1946 for Bombing Fighting Squadron 81, VBF-81.

I have confirmed this info with my contact at Disney.
