The new series is just not as interesting. Vorian Atreides is almost interesting, as is Agamemnon, but the Harkonnen/Butler characters are just saccharin. Also, I think it is written in a really "Star Wars" style, aiming at a target audience of 14 year old boys. I doubt this was the intention, but it is the result. Personally, I could do without the entire series and just go straight to Dune 7, but *sigh* I am suckered into reading these first because I am a ridiculous Dunatic.
If any of you have read any of "Dune Revenant," I actually think it captures the writing style of the originals much more than Brian and Kevin have.
Don't spend all those two cents in one place now ;)
