I need to catch up on my reading. Although right now I have on deck: Mary Doria Russell, Vernor Vinge, Robert Jordan (Wheel of Time guy), Larry Niven and L. Ron Hubbard.

What about Dan Simmons? I get bored by his constant filler, but there's no questioning his talent.
