The no room was made first, then the no-ship crashed by Rabban. The no-room actually survives until Heretics where Teg uses it to avoid his hunters before escaping Gammu (formerly Geidi Prime)

The three scientists brought to Wallach did have their memory wiped, but one, a failed mentat did manage to recall the trip when he got home. And wrote extensive notes on as much as he could remember.
