Star Wars is a Dune knockoff. It reminded me of SW because of the way the trader met the fremen. Like when Luke was bargaining for the droids in the opening moments of SW. The fremen were selling out of date electronics and objects. And yes, I don't much care for StarWars.

If a trader can relize the importance of spice after only a few spicebeers, you would think someone would have discovered it's value as a drug sooner. If there's one thing about humanity, it's that it is very good at discovering new drugs, especialy if the drug permeates everything. And what about the fremen? They know the spice extends life but what do they do about it? Nothing. They don't even try to hide it from the trader! They act like it's no big deal. They want to sell out of date electronics for money but they don't even think about selling the spice. Sounds like real genious to me. Even backwards people like the fremen would see the spice's potential and want to capitalize on it. But nooooo. It takes a chance meeting with a cup of coffee with spice added to it to make spice popular. I believe the fremen arn't even selling the coffee. If it were you I'll bet you would be aprouching every offworlder you could find to show them the spice and the spice alone! not some crap electronics. I am glad the way the spice was discovered works for you. It certainly doesn't work for me.

Since when does humanity need anything prexisting when it comes to drugs? Foldspace would have came later. The spice's properties as a narcotic would be enough to make it popular. Why only a trader out of thousands of people could find spice intresting is beyond me.
