GUNNERS GATE CRASH ANIMALS PARTYS.

As Horse Longman had said only one week earlier, his teams season starts now, and once again it is a fool that disagrees with Horse.

In a return of the round 14 clash between these 2 sides which saw The Animals triumphant by 5 goals to claim the minor premiership, The SwanGunners returned the favour, with interest.

As the Party boys warmed up in front of an appreciative home crowd it had more of a feeling of a nightclub than a football game, as the strains of "PAFC" to the tune of the disco classic "YMCA" belted out from the PA system.

As promised by Horse, his teams season began right from the first bounce with 3 quick goals on the board before the Animals realised what had happened. It was like the strobe lights in the dressing rooms had blinded them as the Gunners piled on the first 6 goals of the match. When the siren sounded to end the quarter there was an almost audible sigh of relief from the Party faithful. At quarter time it was The Gunners by 38 points.

QUARTER TIME
SwanGunners 9 5 (59) lead Party Animals 3 3 (21)

Unbelievably, as quick as Molly's men had lost their way, in an instant they were back in the game, slamming on 7 unanswered goals to take the lead. Quinten Lynch was superb, kicking all 7 goals, whilst the Gunners forward line was choking with the clearly injured Tredrea struggling to have an impact. It wasn't until the recalled Adam Goodes decided to impose himself on the game that the Gunners steadied, and at half time led by only two points.

Horse Longman was clearly furious as he stormed into the rooms to address his players, meanwhile Molly's men received a true popstars reception as they left the field.

HALF TIME
SwanGunners 13 9 (87) lead Party Animals 13 7 (85)

The third quarter was the most even quarter for the whole game with both sides attempting to gain the high ground in the midfield. Club stalwart Heath Scotland was brilliant for the Animals, but his efforts were mirrored by his opposite number in Daniel Kerr. In the end it was 8 goals to 7 for the quarter, with the Gunners clinging to a 4 point lead at the final break

3/4 TIME
SwanGunners 21 11 (137) lead Party Animals 20 13 (133)

With the game as close as it was, no one at the ground could have predicted what was about to happen. The Gunners put on a clinic, and were awesome. Letting those watching know exactly why they were top of the ladder for most of the season. This was brutal as the Gunners went on a scoring spree that was unrivalled in RFL finals history. Kicking 12 goals to 3 for the quarter, led by BOG James McDonald who kicked his 10th for the game during the quarter, the Party boys were left in shock as they pondered the final result. In the end it was The Swans by 53 points and into the grand final for the first time in RFL history.
