I told Liam that we'll walk or he can sprint/walk for about 15 or 20 minutes each night after school.

With his asthma, running the mile is just asking for trouble. I know you hear all about kids who "manage" their asthma, but I'd rather avoid the spendy meds, 4x daily breathing treatments, and steroids. All that would be part of our lives if he was running a mile each day.

Plus, with our weather here lately, we've had air alerts several times in the past two weeks...days when people with asthma are advised to be inside.

I bought him an exercise ball...and he's spending probably an hour a night playing with it. I promised him a mini trampoline as soon as WalMart gets them back in...although I've heard theirs are rinky and I should just spend the extra $20 to get one at Dick's. If I thought it would help I'd buy a treadmill, but to be honest, they scare me. I've seen lots of kids come to school with rug burn all down their bodies because they fell while on the treadmill.

Tell your brother thank you for the good advice! It kind of backs up what I was thinking.

Turns out that Gavon and Jason are playing again, too, so Liam won't be the only kid who isn't a skinny minny. All these boys seem to have packed on the pounds this last 6 months...they've all gone up about 4" in a year, but I have to think that they're on the verge of that first big growth spurt of puberty. As long as the 3 of them have fun, we'll be fine.
