I'm worried about you.

I want you to know I totally, 100% understand your feelings about breastfeeding. I went through that with Liam. Due to my allergy to the epidural meds I didn't get any milk either time.

With Liam I was determined to not give up. I spent time each morning standing in the shower crying about this.

I know it won't help for me to lecture you about how you'll bond with Jack just fine even if he is on formula...about how formula isn't the choice of mom's who don't care, although the propoganda out there would lead you to think so...about how this isn't a failure on your part.

The truth is, when I went through this I was going through intense grief. Nobody else understood. When I tried to talk about it I was told that I had a healthy baby so I should shut up and be thankful.

It's going to take going through the grief process for you to be okay with this. If it makes you feel better AND if it isn't delaying your recovery, keep pumping. My advice, though, is to try to find someone who will listen to you when you need to talk through this...I could only vent to the gals on the c-section complications board. They all knew what it was like to have a disappointing birth experience.

Find someone there who will listen and understand. Try to avoid people who might pressure you...I understand the LaLeche League, but I found them to be way less than helpful.

I hope your feeling better each day...both emotionally and physically!

Beth
