Yesterday she sent me an incredibly bigoted email about people who speak Spanish etc. I sent her an email and said while I respected her right to express her opinions I disagreed with the sentiments of the email and please not to send me anything like that in the future. Needless to say it ticked her off. I explained my views that I don't think that because I'm fortunate enough to have been born with in the borders of the US that I'm better than others and that I understand how difficult it is to learn a new language. Her response was "I'm smart enough to stay in my country where I don't have to learn a new language sure wish they were." I told her she had never had to make the choice of moving to a foreign country or watch her children starve. Anyway it went downhill from there and ended with a whole onslaught of attacks from her about how I hate my SIL and cousin and I've never given them a chance so forth and so on. Nevermind the fact that they constantly plan events leaving me out. Remember a few years ago at Easter when I stated that I needed to go to Wal-mart and they snuck out without me? She states I'm a spoiled brat who doesn't appreciate my parents etc. and that I'm living a lie (supposedly all my aunts think Chris and I got married because I was pregnant - It was a year long pregnancy I guess? married July 13, 1996 Ryan born July 24, 1997?????) I then blocked her address - I'm sick of the family crap. Then we went to the mall to see about light jackets for the kids. Children's Place is having a sale and I have a 15% off even sale items coupon. However we decided to play glow in the dark golf after dinner and I didn't get to CP before closing. The golf took longer than I expected, but it was LOTS of fun! I'm thinking we may have Nathan's next birthday there. It's $7.50 a child and they get glow in the dark necklaces and bracelets etc. I'm very very glad it's a long weekend - sheesh I need a break.
