Subject: More comments.....and more upbeat....(ha!ha!)...(inside)

Man, did I tick off the homer UC crowd....didn't mean too.

The good: They're still winning by 10 points on the road to a 13-5 team and they're playing poorly (in my opinion). Logan is da man! Maxiell has played better to this point except for this game (see the St. Louis game, 14 rebounds, 23 minutes). Field Williams is on fire from 3 point range and playing better defense.

The bad: Everyone except Logan and Field, today. The rebounding has been very mediocre the last 2 games. Max was da man against St. Louie, but everyone else sucked then and today. We outrebounded by one, but that's not going to cut it. Defense is still good, but should be better (in my opinion). Offense is one dimensional (Logan) and occasionally Field gets in the mix. No post scoring. Wish Maxiell would shoot that turn around J more often to give us a threat. Little just can't get it done underneath, neither can JD unless it's a bunny. No depth when foul trouble lurks for the big guys. What's up with Grove? Bad conditioning, huh?

The good again: Sure, we could attribute most of this, especially the defensive lapse and rebounding lapse to a slump....could very well be. But the same thing that has bugged me for years is happening again this year.....STAGNANT OFFENSE. The offense never seems to ever develop in any given year....that bugs me. Sure, all the other teams catch up by the end of the year and there's not much difference between the good and bad teams if you don't come to play...as witnessed by George Washington currently leading Rhode Island by 2 near the end of the first half......it happens. Maybe UC isn't coming to play, but early in the season, they'd come out and go out on an early run to silence the crowd (see Xavier) and make a statement. They aren't coming out with intensity and the other teams are fired up. St. Louis shot the lights out because of their adrenaline.

But again, maybe that says more about UC than those teams. Maybe UC can play mediocre ball and watch their competition play their hearts out (their best games) and still win. I DON'T KNOW, YET. All I know is that we're not playing very well, and still winning. That's a good thing, I guess. I just expect the defense to always be there and it's been there only in spurts the last 2 games.

Can't wait to stick it to ECU at home. Be a good game to kick the offense into gear. After that, we hit the hard stretch. Hope we come out of our slump.
