UC fans like yourself have long worked under the misconception that XU hangs its hat on the outcome of the XU-UC game. It is a big game, but all those other games are important also. There is no doubt that XU has rather consistently shot themselves in the foot by losing to crappy teams down the stretch. To correlate that with anything related to UC simply makes no sense. Many of us are very glad to get rid of Skip because the program didn't really progress under his watch. XU has always had decent talent, but seemed to lack the proper focus to do what they are doing now: win consistently. This has nothing to do with the outcome of the XU-UC game. We would have liked to have won that one this year too. But life, and the season, goes on and thankfully Matta appears to have his team focused. I'd love to see both XU and UC keep winning. Each teams wins help the other in the RPI. Good luck to ya.
