Subject: Question for Xavier fans?

In recent years, you'd beat UC in the Shootout and then fall apart the rest of the season and be a bubble team for the Big Dance, and usually missing getting in. This year, you had a bad defeat at home at the hands of Da Bearcats.......did that bad loss possibly help your players work harder to be the team they are right now or would it have happened anyway?

In other words, in past seasons the Shootout appeared to be your national championship and you'd tank the rest of the season......do you think maybe, by losing the Shootout, it became less important and the Big Dance became more important?

That's what I noticed. Skip made a living off of beating UC and the rest of the season always seemed trivial. Thad shrugged off a loss to UC and concentrated on the "it's a marathon, not a sprint" motto.

I think you've got a much better coach in Thad, he's patient, disciplined, and a better teacher than Skip. I see development in these guys and a balanced scoring attack. You will have a very good season when all is said.

Just wanted some opinions. Won't it be great to be able to talk about success in the NCAA Tournament as opposed to having to hang your hat on beating UC? Maybe you guys are finally learning what really matters.
