Subject: Exactly, El Duque. That is why I must disagree with your projected starting lineup.
In reply to: El Duque 's message, "That's a good quality and one we've been missing since A-Jax graduated. Saunders and Clark, among others, are certainly talented, but aren't raising the bar for others." on Tuesday, July 13, 12:20:52pm

For one, Montiero is not a #2 guard. He doesn't possess a good outside shot and he doesn't have a particularly fast first step although he does have the potential to be a big contributor. (More on that later). I want McConnell on the floor. I was a big fan early because of his shooting ability and because the offense run at CV mirrored that of Duquesne and TJ thrived in it.Now, however, it is something more. He simply makes people better and he has a passion and intensity that this team is sorely lacking. CV's biggest starter was 6-2. They likely only had 1 player who will ever play D-1 and nearly beat one of the very best teams in the nation. Gil Brown, who was incredibly sporadic last year and even the first game of Greentree has rapidly become a force every night. He gives TJ a lot of credit.
The other members of the team can either resent it or embrace it. If that work ethic and intensity is contagious, this will be a great season for Duquesne basketball.
