Subject: West Virginia Freshman Class falling apart.

Noah Cottrill has been suspended indefinitely from our team for conduct unbecoming of a Mountaineer,” said Hugginsin a school statement.

The 6-foot-3, 195-lb guard attended Logan (WV) High School in his senior season and won the Evans Award as West Virginia’s top boys high school basketball player. Cottrill committed to the Mountaineers as a sophomore while attending Poca (WV) High School. He also spent a season at Mountain State Academy before finishing at Logan last season.

Cottrill was a member of a four-player incoming freshman class that has nearly evaporated before the first game of the 2010-2011 season. Mountain State Academy big man David Nyarsuk failed to qualify and enrolled at Mountain State University, an NAIA school. Darrious Curry was medically disqualified based on a medical condition and will not play basketball this season. With Cottrill now suspended indefinitely only 6-foot-10 freshman Kevin Noreen, a late addition after being released from his letter of intent with Boston College, remains active with the team of the scholarship freshman.
