Subject: Well, I'm thinking...more
In reply to: Jeanne 's message, "Funeral question" on 09:29:25 04/21/03 Mon

that it wasn't a shock that she's dead, she's been very ill for almost a year. Her family has had hospice and been taking care of her, so obviously, they had a chance to say goodbye and cherish their last bit of time together. So I'm thinking, it' won't be a shock to them and they've done alot of greiving already. Maybe if you have a babysitter with you and bring her to something, (if it's closed casket, or perhaps she could bring a flower and say goodbye with the casket closed - ask the funeral director - they would probably accomodate that).

I worry about this too. We have a wonderful neighbor who lives across the street who is Harry's "adopted" Grandma. She's had alot of heart problems and we frequently see an ambulance taking her to the hospital. Of course between "incidents" she's out in her yard digging ditches for flowers/plants, mowing the lawn, etc. She's amazing. And Harry and I visit her often, especially during the warmer months when we think she's overdoing it in her yard/garden (it forces her to take a break to talk to us - heehehehehe - we're sneaky).

Good luck with your decision.

Janet
