Ok, what kind I'm not quite sure, however I do recommend it be boneless. The last ham I got was presliced, and that was nice. For Easter we usually go to the market and get a ham. I think store bought hams have on them how long to cook. I just sort of guess. I wait till it looks nice, juicy, darker, and well you could always touch to see. ;) Sorry, but I'm sort of the wing it type cook when it comes to time. How much is hard to say too. Last one I bought was way too big. However, how to prepare - yummy:

I use brown sugar and pineapple slices. If it's not preslices ham, put some cuts in it with a nife and put the brown sugar down in the slices. Put the pinappel slices on with tooth picks and pour the juice over the ham. Then put brown sugar all over the rest of the ham, including packing some in the whole of the pineapple slices. Put in oven and cook. It's so good. My mom has always done it this way.

Hope this helps a little, sorry I can't be more specific on some of it. Good luck with your dinner preparations.
