Although we did not do the adoption thing. They did serve him with papers to give him the chance..kinda like Sherri..to object. In our case though, they did this because we got support from him (though not vouluntarily) and in the courts eyes he was involved. He has never seen her and she is 11. Anyway...We felt it was important for her not to be excluded (in a way) from the rest of us...so anyway...maybe that would work for them.
