I think the off-road capabilities of 4x2s are under-rated. But I am certainly in the minority.

You can easily add skidplates to your X, and no the gas tank is not double lined.

If you're going to take it off road at all, the first thing to do is remove the steprails. Then think about replacing them with sliders.
