I have just woken up from a startling dream. I walked a path of cobblestone, and on each side, a barren field devoid of life dragged on seemingly forever. I did not reconize this place. The sun has set but it more twillight than night itself, but not for long. It got darker and darker, till I could barely see my nose at the end of my face. I was getting uneasy and sweating. I put my shades on, and my world became purple. It made me calm to see purple for some reason. I saw a bright star and followed it. After what seemed like many hours, I had reached a field. There sat the party that had visited my village today. When I got closer, they seemed frozen in place, and did not respond to me. I reached a hand out, and when I touched the priest, I was engulfed in a shining light..Then, eyelids closed, I heard a booming voice. What it told me next was a blur. A pendant was put into my hand, and I clutched it tight, scared. Then, I woke up, breathing heavily. I tried to convince myself that it was only a dream, but in my hand was still the pendant. It was a shiny blue gem, with two white, feathery wings attached to either side. I believe the voice was God, from the events that took place yesterday and in my dream. I understand now, what I must do. I must do whatever means necessary to bring back order to this land of chaos of where I live. I plan to take my bag and pack it. As a 14 year old, I have the right to go off adventuring. Kids as young as 6 would sometimes go adventuring, from the stories I have heard. I will bring you, my journal. I will also carry food and a kitchen kinfe, for cooking purposes, and to fend off attackers. When I reach the training acadamy, that is 30 miles away, I will pass my course and then set off to be an acotyle. After all, if God gave me this pendant, then I should be an acotyle, then a priest, and finally a monk. I hope I find a Bible soon, for I can't take the ones in my village. I'm afraid I can only take one extra change of clothes, or my encumberence would be tooo high. I'm obviously bringing my shades. Afterall, I'd be a shivering maniac filled with fear, and be being paranoid without them. It did happen before I was given my shades once..but I don't like to think of that incident. And now I must wait till my parents wake up. I woke up two hours earlier than normal, at 4AM. I shall prepare breakfast while I wait. Pepco eggs, milk, and fruits sound like a good meal, ne?

After sitting down at the breakfast table, I had been uneasy about telling my parents on my decision. But finally, in the final minutes of our meal, I got the courge to speak, and spat it out. When I was done, I was breathing hard, and my heart was beating faster than normal. They stared at me, eyes full of curiousity. At least they weren't angry was all I could think to myself at that point. After enchanging glances, my father spoke.
"Kiante, why would you want to go off adventuring? Aren't you happy here with your mom and I? And our village? Is it not peaceful?"
"Do you even have a path you have choosen for yourself?" my mother added.
"I understand what I am doing. I wish to be an acotyle, and restore peace to the whole of Rune-Midgard. I promise to keep safe and remember you always. I will return one day, as an accomplished priest."
Our conversation continued like this for several more minutes. In the end, they agreeded, to my relief. I have now packed everything that I have planned. My village is throwing a farewell party for me. I will celebrate and be merry tonight, for this will be the last time I see everyone in my village for quite a long time.
