TASK 14

In order to make a good test the teacher has to have in mind the need of building a good context where communication can be developed. To do that, the teacher has to present situations, which are familiar to the student. In this way we can see that a question can be very successful for a group of students and not so much for another if they’re not part of the same social context and so on.
Test of the communicative competence has to give emphasis to the combination of the four skills (reading, writing, listening and speaking). The functions of these tests is verify if the student can communicate in a foreign language and not if the student knows grammar rules.
Another important thing is the evaluation. Since you cannot expect a fixed answer for all students the teacher has to concern if the student developed or not the task in the way it was expected.
So, the best way to evaluate the development of the communicative competence is to use tests that have a context. This kind of tests stimulates the student’s participation on the classes and facilitates their evaluation.Communicative language tests are then those that make an effort to test language in a way that shows how language is used in real communication.
