HOW CAN WE TEST COMMUNICATIVE COMPETENCE?

Communicative is the ability to use the language in any circumstances. Then in a communicative test, students must be able to use not only the linguistic competence. They have to be able to adequate use of language in different situation proposed by the test. A communicative test does not concern only with test knowledge of vocabulary and grammar. It means to test if the language has been used appropriately in real situation.
According to Kathleen and Kinji to use communicative tests tasks, in which students receive some information and must share them by asking, is a good way to test the communicative competence. The authors also pointed out that reading and writing are another good option. In brief the tests of communicative competence have to test the use of language.
