Subject: This post is a three parter : Part #1 EVERY day is Veterans Day Part #2 Got a bunch of stuff that needs a Home #3 In Memoriam

Like it says on the Header this post is in three parts : Part #1 is that EVERY day is Veterans Day . This Country of ours has lost somewhere over a million G I JOES and Janes since the the Revolutionary War , and setting aside one day a year is great . But always keep in mind that they bought , and paid for our Freedom with their lives . They deserve to be remembered for more than one day a year . I also read today that the Veterans suicide rate is the highest it's ever been . As is Veteran homelessness . I wish that I had some answers but I don't . I'm a not a Vet , but that doesn't stop me from giving a damn about them .

Part #2 I started collecting 1\6 scale Military stuff over 27 years ago , and I've no one to leave it to , so I need to find it a Home . This is a rough list , and if anyone is interested I'll try to get some pics of the stuff , and a more comprehensive list in the next couple of days .

Five NAM Era Troopers , fully equipped , plus a bag of VC , and NVA gear .

A five man Fire Team , FULLY EQUIPPED , from back packs to boots , radios , uniforms are 21st CT woodland camo , the guys are a mix of G I Joes , and Peacekeepers .

A bag of Nam era boonie hats , and butt packs .

A bag of WW II boots , all types

A 21st CT 1\18th scale Huey Chopper , complete with all parts , including the Pilot .

A mixed bag of Civilian camping gear .

And a bag of assorted WW II weapons .

Plus a whole bunch of other stuff . I have no idea what this stuff is worth , bear with me until I get some pics of this stuff and we'll go on from there .

Part #3 is in Memory of my Great Uncle William , who joined the French war effort as a Medic \ Stretcher Bearer and served with them until 1917 when we joined the fight . He then joined the US Army and served with them until the war ended in 1918 . On November 11th .

Unfortunately NO one had told the Germans that the the War was over , and they kept shelling Allied positions . One of their artillery spotters was hit , and my Great Uncle William , and his partner .

Who had served with him since 1914 , went out to get him . They were bracketed by German Artillery fire , and all three of them were killed . On November 14th 1918 , three days after the war ended . It's been over a hundred years since his death , but he will forever be my Hero .
