George Appleby's first wife;

From another source I found her death as

Agnes Herry Appleby d: Mar 1870 age 30 in Portsea
Agnes Catherine E Appleby d: Mar 1870 age 0 in Portsea

I'd guess mother and child died during birth and the child was named after her mother and maternal grandmother.

While Agnes is not part of my bloodline I'm still hoping to find the marriage certificate as it should have George Appleby's birth date/place, address, occupation and his father's name.

George was married to his second wife Drusilla Mathews 18 DEC 1873 in Surbiton, Surrey, England. Her father was William Henry Mathews.

My bloodline (as is my cousins Sam, Edward, and Felicity posted above) is through Ernest Walton Appleby & Mabel Rosaline Frances Morgan.

Also of interest is that Ernest W Appleby that died in James Island BC in 1918 is NOT of this bloodline. I have a copy of his death certificate which shows he was born in Scotland. And family belief is that the Ernest Walton Appleby of this line was in Africa in the 1950s.
