Subject: Your Feedback on the Downfall of Canarsie

I'd like to get some serious opinions & feedback here in regards to what YOU personally believe the reasons were that Canarsie changed so quickly, and what were the causes.

My personal opinion is as follows:

The presence of the Breuklyn Projects was a huge monkey wrench that the city of NY placed in Canarsie in the 1960's. This then led to everyone north of Ave J, between Rkwy Pkwy & East 108th Street running for their lives in the 1980's when the real estate offices like Fillmore & Price illegally blockbusted the neighborhood, telling everyone via phone calls that the "blacks" were moving in, to hurry up and sell before it's too late. I was there. I got the phone calls.

I blame the real estate greedy bastards for what happened to Canarsie, who used fear & manipulation to force people to sell.

I lived in my beloved hometown for 19 years after deciding to leave for greener pastures but I have discovered I really miss the place. Sure the neighborhood has changed but doesn't everything with time? SO what if new people are moving in---where else in NY is there to go and be able to afford nowadays?

thats is some bull shit that those real estate people did racist mother fuckers yeah canarsie is no longer 100% white there are alot fof blacks living there now so what if people left when us (blacks) were coming thats their problem no one forced them to move if they moved because of that dumb call they are just as racist as the people that made the call.
